Joseph S. Sileo

Joseph Sileo is a senior member of the Labor and Employment Group of Ufberg Sileo, L.L.P. and a partner in the firm. Since being admitted to practice in 1993, Mr. Sileo has exclusively devoted his practice to representing both private and public employers in labor and employment law.

In addition to regularly advising and counseling employers regarding employment issues, Mr. Sileo regularly represents employers in connection with defending employment discrimination claims before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state employment practice agencies. He also is very active in state and federal court as defense counsel to employers in connection with labor and employment cases, including those involving claims of employment discrimination arising under state and federal discrimination laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Title VII. Mr. Sileo also counsels employers on other employment related issues, including unemployment compensation matters, wage and hour issues, and in connection with collective bargaining administration and arbitrations.

Mr. Sileo is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and earned his Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he served as an Associate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Review. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Lackawanna Country Bar Associations and formerly served as the secretary and treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division, Lackawanna County Bar Association. Mr. Sileo regularly participates in lecturing to human resource professionals, as well as to attorneys in connection with continuing legal education programs, on various employment and labor topics.
